Samsung has just presented a modified version of its largest folding smartphone.
Does the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 mean anything to you? This is normal: it is quite simply one of the best-selling folding mobiles in the world, alongside the more compact Z Flip 5 from the same manufacturer. However, CES 2024 is currently taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The opportunity for the Korean brand to unveil an improved version of its flexible mini-tablet, which can now... fold in both directions!
The hinge is intended to be a little more visible for the occasion, but it's honestly not that annoying given the progress made here by Samsung. The company benefits from a very large stand at CES, where we also find many other brands such as Withings for connected objects or LG with its latest generation televisions. At our chaebol of the day, connected watches and smart washing machines are also in the spotlight for the 2024 edition of the international show.
What interest ?
Indeed, that is the whole question.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold which folds in both will be particularly useful for taking advantage of a much larger screen when the device is closed on itself . But not only that, since we then find ourselves with a mobile phone also equipped with a display on the back, like the late YotaPhone range which will offer its latest model in 2017, much to the chagrin of its Android users.
Please note, however, that this Galaxy Z Fold is only offered here in prototype form . No price or potential release date has therefore been mentioned by the manufacturer. And of course, as is often the case with this type of product or with concept cars at motor shows, it is even likely that the device will never actually see the light of day. To be clear, be patient: the Z Fold 5 was released relatively recently, and rumors about its successor remain thin for the moment. On the other hand, it is in just a few days that Samsung will present its new Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. In other words, the standard bearers of its entire smartphone collection.
